Which projects do we work on?

Responsible for leading a team specializing in regulatory monitoring and the implementation of regulations, ensuring the early identification of regulatory changes and their effective translation into organizational action plans. Will coordinate cross-functional regulatory projects, acting as a liaison with Business, Risk, Compliance, Legal, and Technology areas to guarantee efficient implementation aligned with supervisory expectations.

 

Team Leadership and Management

  • Lead, develop, and coordinate a team of specialists in regulatory monitoring.
  • Set priorities and oversee the execution of team activities.
  • Drive the professional and technical development of team members.
  • Promote a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.

 

Regulatory Monitoring and Implementation of Regulations

 

  • Proactively monitor national, European, and international regulatory initiatives.
  • Analyze public consultations, draft regulations, supervisory guidelines, and approved rules in the Digital, Retail, and Markets sectors that may affect the Group, and channel this information internally to the relevant departments.
  • Disseminate proposed regulatory changes and coordinate internally with affected departments to formulate the institutional position on new legislative initiatives.
  • Present the position in monthly expert group meetings to discuss and define the Group's stance on impactful legislative and regulatory initiatives.
  • Advocate for CaixaBank’s position within industry associations (e.g., CECA, ESBG, Adigital).
  • Coordinate the implementation of regulations by assigning responsibilities, categorizing rules, and overseeing compliance.
  • Identify risks, opportunities, and impacts for the Group.
  • Manage all regulations requiring compliance and implementation, defining protocols and implementation processes.
  • Track the progress of regulatory implementation projects using an inventory management tool.
  • Manage project timelines, prioritization, monitoring, and momentum.
  • Draft reports for Senior Management, Governing Bodies, and supervisory authorities regarding the implementation of regulations within the CaixaBank Group.

Minimum requirements

  • Law degree. Postgraduate training in financial regulation, compliance, and risk management will be considered an asset.

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in financial regulation.

  • Experience in financial institutions, supervisory bodies, or Big Four (FS Regulatory) – consulting or project management (PMO).

  • Solid knowledge of the banking and investment services regulatory framework.

  • Experience leading complex regulatory initiatives.

  • Experience in coordinating and developing teams and strong communication skills with senior management.

  • Advanced level of spoken and written English.

Job profile

Expert in legal matters who advises the entity in order to guarantee compliance with current regulations at all times and solve problems that may arise in different areas (commercial, labor, procedural ..) and avoid sanctions. The legal advisor can intervene in negotiation processes, advise in relation to contracts, drafting contracts, policy advice, etc.
